


| Lena J. Muñoz is a blood member of the Benton Paiute Tribe (California) and the Ysleta Tigua Tribe (Texas). She is blessed with the gift to create wonderful two and three-dimensional works of art. In 1973 the Ysleta Tigua Tribe renovated their arts program and Lena was introduced to traditional pottery. She went on to earn an AFA from the Institute of American Indian Arts (IAIA) in Santa Fe, NM and a Bachelors of Art from the College of Santa Fe in 1984. In 1985, Lena continued her education as an intern at the Museum of Indian Arts and Culture. She has done various art shows throughout the Southwest and continues to do pottery and pastel paintings. Lena spent nine years teaching in public schools where she shared her desire to integrate art in all subject areas. Lena finds great pleasure in sharing her knowledge and passion for art to everyone. |
